FAQ

What is Toz?

Toz stands for Twentieth of a Troy Ounce. Toz Cash is a silver backed currency. Every note that you own represents an amount of silver. Currently, the 2 note represents 2 Twentieths of a troy ounce of silver, or 2 Toz. This would be about $2 USD.

What do I call these notes?

You could call them by their description: silver certificates. Also, considering that these also count as shares in silver bullion, you could call them shares.

Can I redeem my Toz for silver?

Yes, at participating merchants, you can redeem your Toz Cash for silver when you have enough Toz Cash for one troy ounce of silver. With the current denomination of 2 Toz, you can redeem 10 2 Toz notes for 1 Troy Ounce .999 fine silver. Some merchants may offer to redeem your certificates for silver based on the fractional amount you have, ie: redeeming 5 2 notes for a half ounce of silver.

What about Inflation?

While the silver certificate will be initially equivalent to the US dollar, it is actually pinned on 1/20th of a Troy ounce of silver. Every purchase of a silver certificate purchases an equivalent amount of silver, so that when the USD inflates, the certificate will remain stable. You may see a time where the price of your purchases in USD increases tremendously, but they should remain the same price in silver certificates.
